BCEI Diploma Program In A Nutshell
Please realize that each of the diploma programs have different requirements for
graduation. Below you will find the specific requirements which must be followed to
earn a BCEI diploma. Any questions regarding these items should be referred to
BCEI at 215-723-7226 or we encourage members to purchase the BCEI Standards and Procedures Manual
for complete and detailed information.
In order for a student to earn a BCEI diploma they must:
- Earn a minimum of 23 units of credit in grades 9-12
To include:
- Four units of credit in English
- Three units of credit in Mathematics
- Three units of credit in Social Studies
- Three units of credit in Science
- Two units of credits in Arts & Humanities, or both
- One unit of credit in Health & Physical Education
- Eight units of additional courses approved in the Standards and
Procedures (this is where each student is encouraged to take courses
related to their interests, talents and abilities)
- Adhere to and follow all aspects of Act 169 of 1988.
- Use a BCEI board approved evaluator in grades 9-12 (a complete listing is
published in each issue of Nehemiah's Leadership. Please note that Mr. Johns
personally does all senior year evaluations.
- Keep percentage grades in grades 9-12 and send a copy of final yearly grades to
BCEI for student file at the end of each school year.
- Be a member of BCEI each homeschool year from grades 9-12.
- Be in good standing with the school district with no legal proceedings pending
and be willing to sign the "Certificate of Compliance" form to verify this fact
- Be completely done with all studies by the first of May in the senior year and have
your senior year evaluation scheduled no later than the first week of May
- Be willing to participate in gradiation exercises held the first Sat. of June of the
senior year.
- Realize that secondary education is grades 7-12 and in accordance with Act 169 of
1988 the following subjects must be taught, earning at least 1/2 credit in each area:
- Mathematics: Algebra, Geometry, General Mathematics
- Social Studies: Civics, Geography, U.S. History, World History, PA History
- Other: Health and Physiology, Physical Education, Public Speaking, Music and Art
- Please Note: Safety and Fire Education must be
covered each year
- Have met all financial oblications to BCEI: ($25.00 recording fee due upon
registration, $40.00 yearly
family membership fees, $100.00 graduation fee, etc.)
