Information for Families Registering
for the BCEI Diploma Program
Please realize that you must use a BCEI approved evaluator for grades 9-11. The senior year evaluation is done by the Director/Administrator personally. There are no exceptions to this rule. There is a list of all BCEI board approved evaluators published in each issue of Nehemiah’s Leadership, our bi-monthly newsletter. Your evaluator will be responsible for: (1) sending a copy of the student’s actual evaluation (2) sending a list of credits earned. This should be sent to BCEI by the middle of July or at the end of each school year but no later than August 1st. Parents or evaluators are to send the student’s final grades for each school year to BCEI by the same date and all information is kept in your child’s confidential file.
We request that a list of courses taken in grades seven and eight be submitted to BCEI. The purpose for this is because some courses can be taken in seventh or eighth grades which can count on the secondary level however we must have adequate documentation that these subjects were taken. For example, PA History/Geography, Public Speaking, Music, Art and some others are courses which fall into this category.
If your child is a transfer student from a private or public school we ask that you have a copy of your child’s transcripts forwarded to BCEI at the time of enrollment. The school will most likely only provide you with an unofficial copy but we will supply you with a release form for the official transcript to be sent directly to BCEI.
There is a $25.00 non-refundable recording fee due per high school student at the time that the student’s academic records are sent. This is a one-time fee and the payment should be made to Mr. Terry Johns personally. (Please note that this is not the yearly family membership dues).
We ask the parents to send a copy of the student’s objectives grades seven through twelve each year as they are submitted to the district for the student files by August 1st.
If your child is taking college entrance exams such as the SAT’s or ACT’s, please remember to use the BCEI CEEB code number which is 394783 on the application form. This will insure that a copy of your child’s scores will be sent directly to your child’s school, BCEI and it also assists us as a “school” in tracking our students performance. For more information or practice tests go to www.collegeboards.org
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE REQUIREMENTS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GIVE US A CALL AND WE WILL EXPLAIN THE PURPOSE AND REASONING BEHIND THESE REGULATIONS. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday - 9:30am to 3:00pm - 215-723-7226)
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: When a high school student is enrolled in the diploma program it is
the responsibility of the BCEI evaluator to send a copy of the
student’s evaluation to BCEI once the evaluation has been completed. It is the responsibility of the parent to see that the evaluation and
the student’s final grades for each school year (9-12) are sent to
BCEI before the onset of each new school year (August 1st). Failure
to comply with this requirement could result in BCEI not being able to
issue transcripts when requested.
